Yesterday (20.2.2025) at the Colombo Fashion Week organized by Ajay Singhe and held at the Taj Hotel Colombo the audience was visibly shocked to see garments designed on the depiction of he middle east terror groups on the cat walk.
Displayed under the ‘Deedat’ brand they more than coincidentally similar to the dress and banners so often seen on News Channels the world over. During the killing spree of the ISIS where beheading was done it was always by those wearing full face black masks. The designs shown were very similar to black banners carried by these groups who carried black flags with white letters in Arabic.
If this was art it certainly was in poor taste as garments similar to terror groups in Middle East being shown in a country that not very long ago suffered a suicide bomb attack by Muslim terrorist a few years ago killing over 300 while they were in church on an Easter Sunday.
The thing to note is why the organizers have allowed this as it is glorifying terrorism, and having a good laugh at it at the time.

මෙය කලාවක් නම් එයට බොහෝ කලකට පෙරමුස්ලිම් ත්‍රස්තවාදින්ගේ මරාගෙන මැරෙන බෝම්බ ප්‍රහාරයකින්වසර කිහිපයකට පෙර පාස්කු ඉරිදා දිනපල්ලියේ සිටියදී 300 කට මරා දමා..මරාගෙන මැරෙන්න බෝම්බ ප්‍රහාරයකට ලක් වූ රටක මැද පෙරදිග ත්‍රස්තවාදී කණ්ඩායම් වලට සමාන ඇඳුම් ප්‍රදර්ශනය කිරීම ඇත්තෙන් නරක රසයක් විය.ත්‍රස්තවාදය උත්කර්ෂණයට නංවන නිසාත්ඒ වෙලාවේ හොඳට හිනාවෙන නිසා සංවිධායකයන් මෙයට ඉඩදී ඇත්තේඇයිද යන්න සඳහන් කළ යුතුය……..කතාව ජයසිංහ වීරසේක
